au Van & John are longtime pals who attended Auburn University in the glory days of the late '80s and early '90s.  (Three SEC titles, four wins over bama while they were there.)   Both took degrees in Political Science, yet strangely enough, both now have good jobs.  Van lives in Atlanta and works for a large hospital system, while John lives in Richmond, Virginia, and works for the State of Virginia.  Both went on to do graduate work at Georgetown University (inexplicably, Van also spent a couple of years at Emory University), and now both also teach college classes part time, because they apparently just can't get enough of school. Fans of the other 11 SEC teams routinely find themselves hurled into fits of appoplexia by the biting sarcasm and obscure pop-culture references of Van & John's annual SEC Forecast.   They just don't get that it's a joke...
